Networking in the Region

A workshop for East European experts of gifted education and talent support will be held between 23-25 October in Szeged, Hungary. The workshop is a satellite event of the Warsaw international conference on the topic.

In 2004, Austrian education policy specialist Anton Dobart initiated the regular meeting and exchange of experiences of gifted and talented education professionals and decision makers from East Central Europe. Ever since representatives from Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. In the past two years, Croatia and Serbia have also joined the regional cooperation.

The first meeting was hosted by Salzburg, Austria then Prague, Ljubljana, Warsaw and Budapest organized regional meetings. The last roundtable was a joint event of the First EU Talent Day held in Budapest, 2011.

The next meeting, a satellite event of the conference „Systemic strategies in teaching gifted students - a way to education of future” to be held in Warsaw 19-20th Oct. 2012, will be held in Szeged, Hungary, 23-25 October. The workshop will focus on the following topics:

  • Concepts of giftedness in the different countries
  • The idea of European Talent Points
  • Latest tendencies in gifted education
